Chelchele Washing Station, Kochere District, Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia
Chelchele sits in the Kochere district of Yirgacheffe — one of Ethiopia's most celebrated coffee regions. Expect a sweet backbone of toffee and soft almond, lifted by floral and citrus notes.
Coffee here is grown by smallholder farmers on mixed-crop plots, with cherries delivered to the Chelchele washing station for sorting, processing, and drying on raised beds. The station works with hundreds of producers across the harvest season. While lot-level traceability to individual farmers is rarely possible in this model, we return to the same washing station each year through our trusted export partners.
