Kayon Mountain Farm

Kayon Mountain Coffee Farm spans 500 hectares, with 300 hectares under coffee, and has been family-owned by Ismael Hassen Aredo since 2012. Located 510km south of Addis Ababa in the Guji zone (Shakiso district), the farm borders the villages of Taro and Sewana in Oromia, Ethiopia.

Ismael manages 25 full-time and 300 seasonal staff, offering free transport and supporting local school and community building projects. To compete with nearby mining jobs, the farm pays higher wages to retain skilled pickers each season.

With an on-site nursery and shaded by acacia and native trees, Kayon Mountain focuses on sustainable practices and careful processing, producing both Natural and Washed coffees entirely on the property.
