We love the complex, tropical quality of coffees from Aricha, and have bought this lot Rachia each year since 2021. This classic natural Yirgacheffe gives us sensations of macerated berry & apricot with layers of complex candy sweetness, and a soft clove/spice finish.
Area: Aricha, Gedeo Zone, Yirgacheffe
Until 2018, the mill at Aricha was out of action, but it was revived by new owners Testi Coffee, we first bought coffee from them in 2021. The mill is about 8 kilometres from the centre of Yirgacheffe Town, smallholders (owning less than one hectare of land) deliver cherry to the mill, and are paid premiums depending on what grades of cherry they deliver to the mill, and lots are tracked to individual growers.
