What Deluca Coffee say
Peru - Felipe Estela — Filter Roast Single Origin CoffeeWashed Process
This washed microlot from Felipe Estela showcases the vibrant character of high-grown coffees from Cajamarca, Peru. Grown at 2,000 MASL, a blend of Yellow Caturra and Red Bourbon undergoes El Morito’s signature double-fermentation process, designed to build sweetness and complexity while preserving clarity. Following careful harvesting and sorting, the coffee is slowly dried under shade in solar dryers for up to 25 days. The result is a bright, elegant cup layered with juicy berry notes, sparkling pomegranate acidity and delicate lychee sweetness.
Best Brew Date: 7-35 days after roasting, within 14 days of opening
Felipe Estela is a second-generation coffee producer from the Querocotillo district in northern Cajamarca, and part of the wider El Morito community of specialty coffee growers. Founded by Faustino Flores, El Morito has spent decades building a reputation for quality, earning multiple Cup of Excellence placements while supporting producers across the region.
Felipe represents a new generation of growers focused on elevating quality through careful variety selection and processing. Working alongside the Flores family, he has shifted from higher yielding cultivars toward varieties such as Caturra and Bourbon, pursuing greater cup complexity while contributing to the continued growth of Cajamarca’s specialty coffee community.
