Laos coffee, roasted in Australia
9 beans from 4 Australian roasters. The most common roasts are medium, dark and medium dark. The roasters describe these beans most often as chocolate, caramel & sweet, spice and citrus.
Laos grows coffee on the Bolaven Plateau in the south, on volcanic soil at altitude. Both arabica and robusta come off it, and the arabica is mild and sweet with chocolate and a soft acidity. Very little of it reaches Australia, so a Laotian coffee is worth trying when one appears.
