Grown by 75 women who farm small plots in the hills around Nkara and deliver cherry on designated days so it can be processed and sold as a separated lot. Many are members of Rambagirakawa, a women's alliance within Dukunde Kawa founded in 2012 to give female cooperative members a stronger voice and a bigger share of the value they produce. The arrangement earns them a bonus payment on top of the quality premium every member receives.
