What Everyday Coffee say

This is a long awaited coffee for us. Burundi is a hard to access coffee producing country as a small landlocked nation in Africa with significant political unrest. Coffee makes a long journey to reach export from these communities, as such, we are incredibly lucky to be able to secure and share this coffee with you. Coffee makes up circa 80% of the country's export revenue, making it an incredibly valuable tool for producing communities for economic growth and improved livelihood. The more coffee we buy, the more money we can get back to these producers. Masha, Gatara as a region traditionally known for farming cattle rather than coffee for both subsistence and trade, making it a highly prized region within the country in war times. Masha is actually the name of the washing station which serves over 3200 local farmers. Each producer has only 297 trees on average on roughly 0.11 hectares of land (very small farms). These small-holder farmers are reliant upon coffee for their livelihood. The goal of sourcing and buying coffees like this is to diversify and advantage sovereignty for small-holder farmers in these regions. The coffee itself is a rich and rounded cup, tasting of stewed apple, cooked raspberry, and caramel flavours with juicy acidity and fruit-leather like sweetness. Making a really satisfying, wintery black coffee and will cut through milk if that's your thing.
