What Grounds of Origin say
Railaco Natural is produced in the highlands of Ermera, one of Timor-Leste’s most important coffee-growing regions. Grown in rich volcanic soil and shaped by a unique microclimate, this coffee reflects both the land and the people behind it.
Only the ripest cherries are handpicked during harvest (June–September) and selected for natural processing. The cherries are dried on raised beds and patios, carefully turned throughout to ensure even drying and prevent over-fermentation. This slow, controlled process enhances sweetness, body, and fruit complexity.
Beyond coffee, Timor Global works closely with farming communities supporting better agricultural practices, improving infrastructure, and partnering with NGOs to address issues like child malnutrition. Their work ensures that quality coffee also delivers long-term impact.
An exclusive coffee from the Railaco washing station in Ermera, this harvest is focused on ripeness with over 98% of shade-grown coffee cherries being hand picked at their peak. The cherries are then processed in special greenhouse cocoons and dried over 15 days to highlight rich milk chocolates and sweet strawberry jams.
When I first tasted this coffee, I fell in love with it immediately. I absolutely love the sweet strawberry flavours and it shows the world that Timor coffees shouldn;t be underestimated.
