Welcome to Waturi Estate, an 8-hectare farm sitting snuggly in Murang’a County, Kenya. Initially planted in 1969 by his father William Murathe, David now owns the estate and is run by the talented farm manager Francis Muruangu.

Together they process the coffee on-site which gives them total control over every step helping to maintain the quality and profile they are after. This is done with 3 stages, first it is dry fermented overnight, the mucilage is then removed and finally it is left to soak for another night.

Kenyan coffees since 2023 are generally sold at auction due to coffee trade reforms. But because this is sold directly from the farm, it ensures better returns for producers, faster payments and stronger relationships.
