What Quists Coffee say
Vietnam Arabica Grade 1
Vietnamese Arabica is a rare and premium specialty coffee, offering a distinctive expression of a country better known for its robusta production. Arabica accounts for less than 10% of Vietnam’s total coffee output, making it a sought-after origin for those seeking exceptional quality and character.
This coffee is grown in the high-altitude regions of Lam Dong Province, nestled between 1,000 and 1,600 metres above sea level. Rich volcanic soils, cool mountain climates, and ideal growing conditions combine to produce beans with remarkable sweetness, balance, and complexity.
Renowned as Vietnam’s premier Arabica-growing region, Lam Dong is home to more than 23,000 hectares of dedicated Arabica plantations. Its rolling hills and dramatic landscapes provide the perfect environment for cultivating high-quality coffee.
This coffee undergoes a wet-hulled process, a technique traditionally associated with Southeast Asia and well suited to the region’s humid climate. After harvesting, the cherries are pulped and fermented to break down the mucilage before being thoroughly washed. The coffee is then partially dried to a moisture content of approximately 30–40% before the parchment is removed while still wet. This distinctive processing method contributes to the coffee’s unique character and its characteristic bluish-green bean appearance.
Cup Profile
A medium bodied coffee with a velvety mouthfeel, gentle sweetness, and bright notes of lemon zest. Clean and approachable, it delivers a smooth, well-balanced cup with lively acidity and no harsh bitterness—ideal for those who appreciate elegance, clarity, and subtle complexity.
