What Stitch Coffee say
It's those quintessential coffee flavours and aromas you love, sans the stimulant! Permanent to our coffee collection, this Colombian lot is for our caffeine-sensitive folks. Sourced from select farms in the Popayan region, this single origin is both harvested and naturally decaffeinated in Colombia.
Ethyl Acetate (E.A.) is the scientific name for the unique decaffeination process these beans go through. After coffee is brought from growers in dry parchment, our suppliers mill the beans in Popayan and transport them to Caldas for decaffeination. This is significant as many coffee would undergo the decaffeination process in various countries.
Upon reaching the decaffeination plant, the caffeine is extracted from the bean using a sugar cane–water solution that enhances sweetness while retaining the coffee's flavour attributes. You can find out more about this uniquely Colombian decaf method here.
