What Panorama Coffee say
This microlot comes from Nigist Girmachew’s three-hectare farm in the renowned highlands of Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia. At 2,200 metres above sea level, she grows traditional heirloom varietals under the shade of enset trees* using fully natural methods—no chemical fertilisers or pesticides. The high elevation and rich soils produce a classic Yirgacheffe profile with vibrant complexity and exceptional clarity.
In the cup we are first greeted by distinct Earl Grey tea notes followed by red berries and finally peach as the coffee cooled.
*Enset Trees (ensete ventricosum)- also known as "false banana" or Ethiopian banana, is part of the banana family. It's fruits are visually similar to bananas. They are grown primarily for their starch which form a vital ingredient in traditional Ethiopian foods.
