What Locale Coffee Roasters say
tastes like black cherry, maltesers & graham cracker
A beautiful Pulped Natural from Aneilson Souza at Sítio Capão. More than your typical Brazil - it’s giving dried black cherry and cocoa sweetness, graham cracker, creamy nougat, Maltesers & roasted pecan with bright mandarin acidity.
This lot comes from Sítio Capão in the renowned coffee-growing region of Piatã, Bahia. Produced by third-generation coffee grower and agronomist Aneilson Souza, this coffee reflects his passion for quality, combining generations of farming knowledge with a thoughtful, science-led approach to coffee production. Aneilson and his wife, Rosemeire, live on the 16-hectare property with their three children, personally overseeing the farm and its continued evolution.
Piatã is one of Brazil's highest coffee-growing regions, where cool nights, warm days and mineral-rich soils create ideal conditions for producing sweet, complex coffees with remarkable clarity. Aneilson has spent years refining every aspect of production at Sítio Capão, carefully managing the farm to produce coffees that consistently showcase the unique character of the region.
For this Pulped Natural lot, ripe cherries are selectively hand-picked before the skin and pulp are removed, leaving the sticky fruit mucilage intact during drying. This method builds sweetness and body while preserving the clarity and balance the region is known for. The result is a beautifully structured espresso that showcases just how elegant Brazilian coffee can be.
