Finca Lomaverde is a stunning farm owned and managed by the influential Echavarría Family, in Colombia’s northwestern state of Antioquia. Enclosed by mountains and sitting at 1950 meters above sea level, it is common here to see clouds blanketing the surrounding valleys, a phenomenon that protects the coffee crop from harmful frosts. Coupled with rich volcanic soil, the cool and constant climate is ideal for producing outstanding coffees.
While Lomaverde was first set up in 1975 to yield high volumes, in more recent years the Echavarrías have focused on the farm’s overall health and the resulting improvement in cup quality and complexity. The land has been replanted with heirloom varieties like Gesha or Chiroso and more regenerative farming practices have replaced a heavy reliance on fertilisers and other inputs. We deeply admire the Echavarrías dedication to producing beautiful coffees at Lomaverde for years to come. We hope you enjoy this exquisite Chiroso lot!
