What Market Lane Coffee say
This coffee has notes of peach and pomegranate with a sweet jasmine finish.
Jane Njeri Njiru greets visitors to her small coffee estate Mutura, located in Kenya’s beautiful Embu County, with a warmth and enthusiasm that epitomises her joyful nature. Now in her 70s, Jane has over three decades of farming coffee behind her and still approaches the task with unmatched passion. With the help of her farm manager, Ernest Mathugu, Jane keeps some 6000 coffee trees healthy and productive, growing alongside a beautiful garden of native fruits and flowers.
Despite its small scale, Jane chooses to process Mutura’s coffee independently, rather than selling cherry to a local cooperative-run washing station. She has invested in a small wet mill onsite, allowing her and Ernest control over every stage of the coffee’s production and ensuring the full potential of their crop is realised.
We first met Jane in 2023 and were charmed by her boundless energy and deep care for everyone she meets. We are delighted to share her bright and juicy coffee with you now!
Jane extends her warmth and enthusiasm towards all Mutura’s visitors.
Mutura has a wet mill onsite, giving Jane and her farm manager full control over their crop.
