What Market Lane Coffee say
This coffee has notes of macadamia and pear with a cocoa finish.
Now in his 30s, Kleumon Silva Moreira has spent most of his adult life working in coffee production. After a decade working alongside Antonio Rigño (another of our producing partners, who is widely regarded as one of the best coffee farmers in Piatã), Kleumon saved enough to purchase his own small parcel of land, which he named Sítio Canaã, or “promised land” in Portuguese.
He has since demonstrated his love for the land and its crop through an expansive, ambitious approach to coffee farming. At Sítio Canaã, Kleumon has planted upwards of ten distinct coffee varieties, trialling their performance in Piatã’s unique growing conditions. Nearby, he has set up a thriving coffee nursery, where he sells seedlings to neighbouring farmers who value his insight and advice on the best varieties for cultivation.
We’re so proud to have worked with Kleumon since he first established Sítio Canaã in 2016, with 2026 marking our 9th consecutive year offering his coffees. It is a great pleasure to taste a coffee year after year; to gain familiarity with its seasonality and observe how quality evolves as the relationship with the producer develops.
