What The Maillard Project say
Sebastian Gomez, a second-generation coffee producer, co-owns La Divisa Farm in Circasia, Quindío, with his father, John Gomez. This 13-hectare farm, situated at an altitude of 1,700 meters, is shaded by native trees like Guamo, Guayacan, Gualandai, and Nogal. John, a seasoned coffee farmer with over 30 years of experience, has managed the farm since purchasing it in 1995. Sebastian became actively involved in 2014 after returning to Colombia.
Inspired by the global specialty coffee movement, he and his wife shifted the farm's focus to cultivating high-quality coffee, including varieties like Geisha and Pink Bourbon. Together, they oversee both farm operations and administrative tasks, blending tradition with a modern approach to specialty coffee production.
