What Offshoot Coffee say

About the Producer

Maruri Hill is produced by the Dusangirijambo Cooperative in Kayanza, Burundi, working in partnership with Migoti Coffee Company. Established in 2007, the cooperative has grown from 1,300 to over 3,000 members, including more than 1,000 women, with a shared goal of improving coffee quality and strengthening local communities.

Migoti Coffee Company supports the cooperative through quality-focused processing, transparent supply chains and sustainable development initiatives, helping farmers gain greater access to specialty coffee markets while creating long-term economic opportunities.

Together, their partnership continues to showcase the remarkable quality and potential of Burundian coffee.

About the Lot

Like many of Burundi's finest coffees, this lot follows a traditional washed process designed to maximise clarity, sweetness and balance.

Freshly harvested cherries are depulped before undergoing 12-24 hours of fermentation. The parchment is then transferred to African raised beds, where it dries slowly over 2-3 weeks until reaching its ideal moisture content of 11-12%. Each day's production is carefully evaluated through cupping before being blended into export lots, ensuring exceptional consistency and quality.

The result is a beautifully balanced cup showcasing juicy Stonefruit sweetness, delicate Black Tea character and a clean Sugarcane finish. Elegant, refined and wonderfully approachable, it is everything we look for in a classic washed Burundi.

A timeless expression of Kayanza, showcasing the quality, collaboration and craftsmanship that continue to define Burundian coffee.
