What Barrio Collective coffee say
Decaf Coffee
Popayan Reserve
Cauca Colombia
Yes this decaf is delicious! We are having fun with our decaf these days, so give us some liberty with silly names. Also known as shit hot decaf, ooh la la decafé, heaps good decaf, not shit decaf and others…
This is a sugar cane process decaf from producers in Popayan. It is transported and processed in Caldas, Colombia.
This method of decaffeinating coffee is called EA process and its a real game changer. To cut it short, raw coffee is heated through steaming which swells and opens the structure of the coffee. A compound derived from sugar cane which binds with the caffeine is used to wash the coffee in this moistened state before the coffee is again washed and dried.
This is enjoyed as espresso or with milk and as a rich mug of filter. Also makes an epic oat or nut milk flatty. TASTING NOTES:
