Detailed grading paired with the natural process is a showcase for the Mkulima Kwanza Co-operative, supporting the positive social impact and the emergence of a commodity market. Coffee from the Songwe region has historically been bulked into faceless commercial lots, but the work of Communal Shamba has helped the farmers of the Mkulima Kwanza co-op showcase their true potential. For this lot, careful processing separated out the naturally processed Peaberries (with only one seed maturing in the cherry) resulting in a cup that’s jam-packed with unique flavours. Not only delicious but funds from the sale of this coffee go directly back into education and health initiatives within the farming community. Win-win!
