The Caña Dulce lot is a decaffeinated blend procured from a range of specialty coffee producers in Colombia's renowned Huila region. Initial processing involves a conventional washed method, after which the high-quality green beans are subjected to a specialised decaffeination technique designed to retain the original flavours.
In this process, the beans are immersed in a solution of water and Ethyl Acetate, a compound derived from sugar cane. The beans are steeped in this mixture, which allows for the extraction of 97% of the caffeine content while leaving the flavour profile intact.
This meticulous procedure ensures that the final product remains beautifully balanced in flavour, offering the satisfaction of coffee without the effects of caffeine. The Caña Dulce decaf blend, therefore, provides a coffee experience where you can savour the rich tastes of the Huila region without the caffeine, perfect for those seeking a full-bodied, flavourful, but decaffeinated coffee option.
