Monsoon coffees are unique and distinctive - there is nothing else like them anywhere.

Monsoon coffees are unique and distinctive - nothing else like them anywhere.

Solid and robust, these coffees are like pouring jelly into a cup: thick, dense body, massive crema and insane complexity.

If you can think of a herb or spice, it's detectable in the Monsoon Malabar - it's got anything and everything at the same time.

A particular type of coffee drinker will become addicted, infatuated and most likely obsessed with life once they experience Monsoon Malabar - all other coffees will pale into insignificance.

It would be best to have a super-fine grind as the Monsoon process dehydrates every bit of moisture. The lack of water and density also makes roasting difficult.

The Monsoon Malabar is just for you if you enjoy Greek or Turkish-style coffees.

A coffee you should consider trying if you have not yet.

Don't be put off by the funky aroma; it's a different coffee experience.

Guide - Gosh, where to start. It's a seriously difficult coffee to use in espresso situations as the grind needs to be so damn fine the burrs are almost touching.

Anything less than ultra fine will result in gushing brews and under extraction. Make sure you have a good grinder.

Spicy and funky. Not only does it smell strange the flavor is deeply rooted in spicy notes and chocolate. A powerful coffee with low acid.

🌪 Mighty Monsoon Malabar – Unique Low‑Acid Arabica Coffee

Looking for an exceptional, one‑of‑a‑kind coffee experience ? Meet the Monsoon Malabar Arabica , a specialty coffee unlike anything else in the world. Loved by many and loathed by some, this polarizing cult classic has built a loyal following over the past 20 years.

100% Arabica beans processed through the traditional monsoon method

Lowest‑acid coffee in our portfolio – perfect for espresso and black coffee drinkers

Distinctive funky, earthy, briny aroma that transforms into a rich, syrupy espresso

Freshly roasted daily since 2008 – over 10,000 batches perfected

Syrupy chocolate sweetness balanced with spice and dark cocoa

A medium roast that appears lighter due to the monsoon process, with a mottled pale brown finish

Super‑fine grind – almost Turkish level – is essential for proper espresso extraction

Many domestic grinders may struggle to achieve the required fineness

Aim to slow the pour for maximum flavor; under‑extraction will ruin the cup

Best enjoyed 2 weeks post‑roast for optimal flavor development

Works beautifully in espresso machines , but also suitable for plunger, stovetop, or drip brewing

The monsoon process exposes beans to humid monsoon winds, reducing moisture and density. This creates a distinctive funky aroma and unique flavor profile unlike African or Central American coffees. Roasting Monsoon Malabar is notoriously difficult, but with 18+ years of experience , we’ve mastered the art of bringing out its best qualities.

Monsoon Malabar is considered one of the world’s most full‑bodied Arabica coffees . Its uniqueness has earned it a cult status among specialty coffee enthusiasts , with truckloads sold weekly and roasted fresh every day.
