What King Carlos Coffee say

A rare Colombian Geisha from one of the most respected coffee families in the country.

Colombia Geisha from Jairo Arcila is a single producer, single variety microlot. Roasted weekly at our Hurstville roastery in Sydney. Geisha is the most prized variety in specialty coffee — when it is grown well, it tastes unlike any other coffee. This lot delivers the classic Geisha character: rose, jasmine, stone fruit and a long tea-like finish.

The serious filter coffee drinker. V60, Chemex, AeroPress, batch brew. A coffee for slow weekend mornings, not rushed weekday espresso. Best black, no milk, no sugar — this is a coffee to taste fully.

Filter / V60: 1:17 ratio (60g per litre), medium-fine grind, 92-94°C water, 3 minute brew

AeroPress: 15g coffee, 220g water at 85°C, 1:30 minute steep, gentle plunge

Chemex: 1:17 ratio, medium grind, 93°C water, slow controlled pour

Espresso is not recommended for this lot — the delicate florals and citrus get muted by espresso pressure. This is a filter-only coffee. Call (02) 9580 1300 if you want guidance on getting the best out of it at home.
