What Market Lane Coffee say

This coffee has a rich mouthfeel with notes of milk chocolate, orange and red grape.

The small town of Cajamarca has long been regarded as an important agricultural hub for Tolima, Colombia. This region is defined by its high hills, abundant water sources, and mineral rich soil, thanks to the close proximity of the Cerro Machín volcano. Cajamarca, which translates to “Cold Lands” in the local Quechua language, sits just over 1,800m above sea level, and enjoys a cool climate year-round. Coffee first reached Tolima in the late 1800s and has since become central to the local identity.

This lot was produced by six “cafateros”, who grow and process coffee on tiny farms in and around Cajamarca. Historically, coffee from such a remote region would have been lotted into large lots for commercial export. With the support of our long-term supply partner, Pergamino, however, these producers can now sell their coffee as a region-specific lot to quality focused roasters like Market Lane. We think the distinct Cajamarca profile suits espresso perfectly, with its rich sweetness and red berry notes.
