Proto Coffee Roasters started in 2024 and roasts on a Probat P25/3 drum roaster. Beans sell direct from the roastery and through the online shop. Proto buys from farmers and merchants who practise sustainable production. Most of the beans in stock are blends of Brazilian, Colombian and Ethiopian coffee, mostly roasted medium. The Espresso Blend is the one bean roasted for espresso, a medium dark with toffee, malt and chocolate aromas. Among the Brazilian single origins, Rio Grande is a natural with roasted nuts and subtle sweet caramel chocolate notes.
