What Gabriel Coffee say

Bright, complex acidity with flavours of red fruits, peach, and subtle floral notes.

Gakuyui-ini Coffee Factory, established in 1982 in Kirinyaga County, serves 900 smallholder producers from Githiru, Gituba and Mukure villages. The Kirinyaga district sits on the southern slopes of Mount Kenya. It is home to some of the most fertile soils of the country due to the volcanic activity of the region.

Affiliated with Thirikwa Farmers’ Co-operative Society, the factory processes coffee delivered the same day it is picked. Cherries are wet processed using water from River Kiri, then fermented, washed, soaked and carefully sun dried on raised beds, with frequent turning and sorting to ensure quality.
