ABOUT
El Suspiro is owned by Alejandro Saldaña and his wife, Maria Ligia Mierisch, who is known as “Aunty Maria” and is part of the renowned Mierisch coffee-growing family. One of the unique characteristics of Orange Bourbon is that its cherries ripen to an orange colour, making it more challenging for pickers to identify cherries at their peak ripeness.
An interesting tradition at El Suspiro is that the first harvest of the season often begins on Christmas Day, 25 December. While Maria stays home to celebrate Christmas with their children, Alejandro has to go to work on Christmas day to kick off the harvest.
