What Deluca Coffee say
This Anaerobic natural Red Caturra lot from Finca La Providencia celebrates the vibrant fruit character of El Salvador's Apaneca-Ilamatepec mountain range. Grown at 1,100-1,300 MASL, ripe cherries are selectively handpicked before drying slowly on raised beds and clay patios to develop sweetness and complexity. Guided by generations of coffee growing knowledge, Fernando Alfaro and Jose Enrique Gutierrez produce a lively, elegant cup layered with juicy pomegranate, refreshing watermelon and delicate hibiscus florals, finishing with remarkable clarity and balance.
Finca La Providencia is owned by Fernando Alfaro and Jose Enrique Gutierrez, two producers whose families have cultivated coffee for generations in western El Salvador. Situated in the Apaneca-Ilamatepec mountain range, the farm combines rich volcanic soils, a favourable dry harvest season and decades of accumulated knowledge to produce exceptional specialty coffee.
Quality begins with selective hand harvesting and continues through careful natural processing, with cherries dried first on raised beds before finishing on traditional clay patios. This patient approach allows sweetness and complexity to develop naturally, reflecting both the heritage of the farm and the enduring coffee traditions of the region.
