What Deluca Coffee say
This washed lot from Masha Washing Station in Burundi offers a vibrant, balanced cup with bright acidity and rounded sweetness. Grown by smallholder farmers and processed with careful attention, cherries are handpicked, sorted and pulped shortly after delivery before controlled fermentation, washing and slow drying on raised beds. The result is a clean, expressive profile showing red fruit brightness, gentle citrus lift and a soft, syrupy finish - a refined and approachable expression of Burundi’s high-grown coffees.
Masha Washing Station brings together over 1100 smallholder farmers, many cultivating just a few hundred trees alongside food crops for their families. Coffee here is deeply rooted in daily life, with most harvesting done by hand and delivered to the station for centralised processing.
The station focuses on careful quality control at every stage, from cherry selection through fermentation and drying. Supported by Greenco, farmers also receive access to seedlings, organic fertiliser and agronomy training. These combined efforts help improve both cup quality and long-term sustainability, contributing to the growing reputation of Burundi as a source of exceptionally clean and sweet coffees.
