What Mad About Beans say

Rich and smooth, sweet with notes of caramel and dark cocoa layered over a gentle stone fruit sweetness; velvety full body with a clean, lingering.

Okay, this is not German, but we like it, and it works for the coffee we use. Our daydreamer coffee is a special one. It's always a small batch and changes regularly, depending on what's available and our current daydream.

The coffee explores new ways of processing as well as roasting, so we think, daydreamer is pretty approriate. But let us know your thoughts!

Taking its name from the neighbourhood in which it is located in Bairro Santa Izabel, this farm spans 126 hectares in the south of Minas Gerais state. Historically owned and operated by the Suplicy family, the farm underwent major reforms from 2013 to 2017 and is now part of the Nobletree Coffee family.

About 40% of Santa Izabel is devoted to coffee, a further 40% to bio-reserves, with the remaining area comprising built-up facilities including an in-house mill and QA lab. Five families call the farm home and, along with additional local workers, manage the daily running of the property.

A dynamic team of agronomists works toward selecting the best varietals for the terroir, with correct handling and processing methods. The farm has begun concentrating efforts on renewal — replanting older trees and cultivating 40 test varieties aimed at improving yield and quality in coming harvests. As part of Nobletree's Neighbours and Friends Program, courses and workshops focused on post-harvest guidance, drying techniques and cupping are run in partnership with SEBRAE and SENAR, tailored for small to medium producers in the Espírito Santo do Pinhal and Ouro Fino regions. Santa Izabel is no stranger to international recognition, having placed in the 2013 Cup of Excellence and featured in numerous national and regional competitions.
