What Old Quarter Coffee Merchants say
We’re proud to showcase a filter roast of our friends' coffee — one that sits at the heart of Old Quarter. This is the coffee we built our business on back in 2017, and it continues to represent a journey of hope in an ever-evolving agricultural landscape.
While it's central to our story, we rarely release it as a light roast, making this offering something special.
This lot is an excellent example of what a traditional variety and washed process can achieve. A clean, washed Arabica from Vietnam is still a rarity, offering a hopeful glimpse into the future of Vietnamese specialty coffee.
WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT
This coffee is an excellent example of what washed coffee from Vietnam can be. It has a crisp acidity and sweetness that layer together in unison. Expect notes of caramel and honey — supported by unique citrus notes, apple, some interesting tea-like herbal florals, and hints of stonefruit. The mouthfeel is complex, with a well-balanced sweet–savory structure. Savour the cup as it cools.

THE STORY
This coffee represents a rare opportunity to experience a delicious example of Vietnamese specialty coffee, built on the foundation of creating a sustainable and viable farming future.
Pat and Tam, together with their K'Ho community, have worked hard for many years to improve every aspect of growing, harvesting, and processing their coffee. In the early days of our relationship, they were able to break away from the commodity coffee cycle and produce an exceptionally high-quality product. The higher altitudes and pristine natural environment surrounding Langbiang Mountain have also played an important role in making this possible.
Over the past 10 or so years, we've built trust and friendship through an ongoing relationship, and we've all benefited from working closely together.
For our company, this relationship represents everything we hope to stand for. This was the very first coffee we imported. We started with just one humble pallet, and today we pre-purchase close to the entirety of their harvest.
This coffee is the result of years of hard work, raw potential, and an enduring partnership. It's still just a humble washed coffee from the slopes of a high-altitude mountain. And you can taste it.
