Origin: Gowa, South Sulawesi Variety: Typica Process: Washed Altitude: ~1,250masl Roast: Omni Tasting Notes: Apple • Cola • Milk Chocolate • Dried Orange • Pecan

A clean, rounded washed Typica from Malino in South Sulawesi — quietly expressive, comforting, and versatile across both espresso and filter.

This lot opens with fresh apple brightness and dried orange lift, then settles into a cola-like depth with soft milk-chocolate sweetness and a gentle pecan finish. The cup is balanced and smooth, with mellow acidity, layered sweetness, and a polished, comforting texture that lingers.

Malino, South Sulawesi

Malino is a cool, elevated growing region in the highlands of South Sulawesi, where slower cherry maturation helps build sweetness, structure, and clarity in the cup. Coffees from this area often show a distinctive balance of fruit, spice, and grounded sweetness, making them both expressive and easy to return to.

Typica Variety

Typica is one of coffee’s most historically significant varieties, known for its refined cup profile and elegant structure. When grown well and carefully processed, it can produce cups with gentle fruit, clear sweetness, and a composed, balanced finish. In this lot, Typica brings a soft, articulate character that suits both espresso and filter brewing.

Washed Process

Washed processing begins with ripe cherries being pulped to remove the outer fruit, leaving the beans coated in sticky mucilage. The coffee is then fermented in water to break down this layer before being thoroughly washed clean and dried.

By removing most of the fruit influence before drying, the washed process allows the coffee’s origin, variety, and structure to come through with greater clarity.

Washed coffee often highlights:

Clean, articulate flavour separation

Brighter, more transparent acidity

Balanced sweetness and structure

A polished, elegant finish
