What Locale Coffee Roasters say
tastes like mango, pineapple & frangipani
This Ateng Super Natural lot comes from Frinsa Estate in Indonesia. For a classic natural, this is a pretty funky coffee. It features perfumed tropical florals, super sweet mango and roasted pineapple notes with some punchy acidity.
Grown in the highlands of West Java at Frinsa Estate, one of the most respected coffee producers in Indonesia. Owned & run by Wildan Mustofa, his wife, Atieq Mustikaningtyas and their son Fikri, the estate is known for its attention to detail – both on the farm and at the mill. They were among the first experimenting with different varieties and new processing methods and have been a key player in reshaping the perception of Indonesian specialty coffee in recent years.
Alongside the positive social and economic impact on the community, Frinsa’s coffee project has also resulted in sustainable long-term benefits, including water conservation and reforestation efforts.
This particular lot is made up of the Ateng Super variety – a locally developed selection of the Catimor variety known for both its high yield, disease resistance and excellent cup quality. Ripe cherries were carefully sorted and then dried whole on tarps. The resulting coffee is process-forward, fruity and bright, while retaining the clarity Frinsa is known for.
We also have a Washed coffee from the same farm roasting for espresso.
