TELL ME MORE
Decaf doesn't have to be boring! This Decaf De Caña retains all its delicious flavour but virtually none of the caffeine.
The coffee is sourced from various smallholder farmers in the Huila region of Colombia and is custom decaffeinated there via a unique, natural process using ethyl acetate [EA] derived from fermented sugarcane.
The decaffeination process works by soaking green coffee in this EA solution which bonds to the salts of chlorogenic acid present in the coffee and removes the caffeine. The beans are then taken out of the solution and steamed at low pressure to remove any remaining compounds. Processed beans will only contain a maximum of 0.01-0.03% caffeine.
This may sound technical, but put simply, the finished product tastes just like your regular coffee, and is decaffeinated in a very natural way, the only difference is your level of buzz!
