Everything you need to know about the Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Single Origin

Yirgacheffe is a renowned coffee growing area in southern Ethiopia, which is widely recognised as the birthplace of coffee.

This Single Origin is sourced from the Yirgacheffe region, from the Chelchele village, and has a classic Ethiopian coffee profile.

A juicy and tea-like body with fruity undertones of white nectarine and grape, and sweet lemon acidity with a silky mouth feel.

We roast this Single Origin to highlight its floral, fruity and citrus notes.

It is best served as a long black but can be equally enjoyed as a milk-based coffee.

It is ideal for various brewing methods including espresso, stove top or plunger, and can be roasted, on request, for filter and pour-over.

That’s why we exclusively source specialty coffee beans, celebrated for their superior quality and flavour.

Specialty coffee beans have an SCA score of 80 points or above on a 100-point scale.

The SCA scoring focuses on quality and flavour, but also considers other factors involved in producing the coffee beans, such as sustainability practices and ethical sourcing.

With regular coffee, not only can it be made from lower quality beans, there is no guarantee that attention has been paid to the preservation of the environment or the well-being of workers.

All of the beans we use are rated 80 and above, ensuring that you are receiving the highest quality coffee roasted in the heart of the Maleny Hinterlands.
