Chelbesa

This natural lot was processed at the Chelbesa wet mill, located in Danche village, Gedeo Zone, south of the Yirgacheffe region of Ethiopia.

Celebrated as one of the best coffee producing regions in Ethiopia, coffee here is farmed under a dense semi-forest canopy on fertile red soil. Holdings are small and traditional, mainly from the Wolishu and Dega landrace varieties. Farms are small, often under two hectares, and rely on traditional, organic-by-default practices, where coffee is often intercropped alongside food crops.

In the cup, this coffee tastes like strawberry and red grape, with a black tea finish.
