Blackboard Coffee Roasters started in 2013 on the Gold Coast and now roasts in Burleigh Heads. The roaster buys direct from growers and says sustainability guides who it works with. Most of the beans are single origins, and they come from Colombia, Brazil, Burundi, Timor-Leste, Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda. Finca Quebradita Orange Bourbon Thermal Shock is an anaerobic Colombian lot with blood orange and passion fruit cheesecake notes. Kayon Mountain Farm Heirloom from Guji, Ethiopia, is a natural with jammy plum and peach. Other roasters also sell coffee from Linarco Rodriguez, Kayon Mountain Farm and Kibingo Washing Station.
